My wall in college

Pathway stage project

Personal Statement

                                                Personal statement

Take up one idea. Make that one idea your life – think of it, dream of it, and live on that idea. Let the brain, muscles, nerves, every part of your body, be full of that idea. I have got my idea since I started high school and I met the real meaning of the word “art”.
When I first started studying arts in high school I tried almost everything related to it, but the fact that I was learning after an old school method limited in some ways my chances of getting experience at a higher level. In the second year of study I had already put my thoughts in order and I knew that I want to study sculpture. Since then I was pretty much caught in and I was spending a lot of my time studying and trying different techniques. Because I have a really competitive personality I was always involved in school’s festival and I was always part of sculpture contests, winning the 1st place in my senior year.
As I was always thought of as a reliable student I was chosen by one of the best teachers in the school to attend a three week session with him and a colleague of mine to a city near my town to paint a church. This experience really thought me what is the meaning of hard work and was also the moment when I reached a higher level in my practice. I also learned new painting techniques and different styles of art that until those moments were unknown to me as in high school we were thought only the basic facts.
As I always lived in a small country I have not really got a chance to experience art beyond the classical techniques. This is the main reason that I have decided to study abroad. Seeing that this was a last minute decision I started an art Foundation course, trying to find out more about what I want to study and experience a whole lot of new techniques.  My main area of interest is the human body shape, an area that I am trying to explore it in different ways like drawing and clay modeling and I hope that being at a Foundation course is going to help me to explore also the metal area and the fiberglass, like it helped me to think different and to find out different ways to approach things.
Even though taking a foundation course helped me learn new and different ways of applying art I still kept my main idea of following a career as a sculptor. As I evolved and exercised my technique better, I can now firmly admit that I would be a great candidate to take a BA degree in this field.

This are some hand and feet studies. I made this to improve my welding skills and also to prepare myself for the next project. I've really enjoyed working with metal because it was a new experience for me but also because I've always wanted to explore as many techniques as possible and to know as much as I can about the 3D area.

This is my second metal work,it is made of 2 and 6mm wire. The bottom part is made of wood and train tickets, trying to look like a dress. The pictures are placed in the order that were made.

This is my first wire welding. It was just an experiment.
